Sternal Yoga®

Jarrousse Method®

A progressive program of functional optimization merging posture, respiration, cognition, the nervous system, and active longevity.

The Genesis

Born from resilience.
Shaped by clinical experience.

Sternal Yoga® was founded by Natacha Jarrousse, a Feldenkrais practitioner since 2001, backed by 25 years of clinical experience and over 70,000 individual postural and cognitive realignment sessions.

This approach was born from a defining event in her life. At the age of 22, Natacha suffered a 7-meter fall, resulting in major polytrauma, multiple lumbar fractures, and a 17-day coma.

During her long and complex rehabilitation, she closely observed her own body. It was then that she realized a fundamental truth: the mobility of the sternum profoundly and directly influences the quality of all movement.

"Sternal Yoga was born from a simple conviction: when we learn to better feel our body, it often becomes capable of doing far more than we thought possible."

Natacha Jarrousse — Founder of the Jarrousse Method

The Problem

Modern Postural Regression

Spending hours sitting, leaning forward toward a computer or phone screen, deeply alters our natural balance.

This daily misalignment leads to a progressive drop of the sternum, a collapsed chest, and a compressed diaphragm, blocking natural breathing.

A loss of thoracic mobility forces the body into shallow breathing, which generates chronic muscle compensations and increased energy expenditure.

"When the thorax regains its freedom of movement, the body breathes better, moves better, and recovers faster."

The Method

The 5 Pillars of Sternal Yoga®

Five complementary pathways built to preserve and develop your physical, cognitive, and respiratory capacities at all stages of life.

01

Nervous System Regulation

Soothing, stabilizing, and securing the organism to reduce the impact of chronic stress and promote recovery.

02

Postural Education

Reprogramming natural alignments and refining the sensory perception of one's own body in space.

03

Physiological Vitality

Optimizing three-dimensional breathing mechanics and harmonizing the circulation of vital energy.

04

Cognitive Development

Supporting brain plasticity, enhancing focus, and cultivating deep mental clarity.

05

Active Longevity

Maintaining joint mobility, preserving physical autonomy, and optimizing overall quality of life.

Philosophy

"The body is not an object to be corrected, it is a force to be maintained."
"The body does not get out of balance in a day; it gradually adapts to the constraints imposed upon it."
"Movement is a biological need; age does not change this need."
"Regular practice produces results that sporadic efforts can never offer."
